Compliance: My Immigration and Compliance Practice advises multinational corporations on a variety of employment-related immigration issues, focusing on strategic immigration planning for the U.S. and international companies for the international relocation of personnel, both from and into the United States.

I work with our clients to address the visa and work authorization needs of the U.S. and global personnel, including professionals, managers, and executives, treaty investors/traders, essential workers, persons of extraordinary ability, corporate trainees, and students.

Additionally, I have expertise in I-9 compliance work. I assist companies with drafting employment verification compliance policies, training sessions, internal audits, as well as representation in government audits. I also defend businesses involved in large-scale government raids and audits.

I routinely work with foreign entities, investors seeking to invest in, or export technical data and services to entities in the US to ensure compliance with CFIUS, ITAR, EAR, and OFAC.IUS, ITAR, EAR, and OFAC.

• I started the firm as a solo attorney and grew it to include four full-time attorneys, three paralegals, and one full-time administrative assistant.
• I developed and executed the firm’s entry into Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), where we established a local office in November 2017 to assist clients in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) with expanding their business presence into the United States and gaining immigration benefits in a variety of countries, in addition to the United States.
• I negotiated affiliation agreements with law firms and lawyers in Canada, Italy, Singapore, India, the United Kingdom, and the UAE to provide outbound immigration and business services to U.S. and MENA-based corporate and investor clients.

• While an Associate Attorney at Carney & Marchi, P.S. I focused on family based immigration as well as Removal/Deportation defense, particularly in the context of immigration consequences of criminal acts.
• Family based immigration: Including I-130; Adjustment of Status (I-485); K-1(fiance visa)
• Consular Processing: Assisting Individuals and family members file for Naturalization & Citizenship benefits.
• Removal/Deportation Defense: Including Asylum; Witholding of Removal; Convention Against Torture Relief; Cancellation of Removal; Motions to Terminate, and Motions to Reopen Removal Proceedings.
• Appellate Practice: Represented clients before the Board of Immigration Appeals and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
• Criminal Law: Represented clients in Felony & Misdemeanor matters before the Superior, District & Municipal courts in Washington state.

• During my time as a Law Clerk, I focused on employment based immigration where I assisted clients apply for work visas which included H-1B, H-1B1, L-1A, J-1, TN and other temporary work visas.
• I also assisted individuals and families apply for permanent residence which included I-140, I-130 and other family based petitions.
