I have spent years in personal preparation. God has always brought me to the exact right place at the precise moment I needed to be there. I am passionate about worship, teaching, Scripture, Scripture memorization and utilization for the fulfillment of God's plan as he leads through his Holy Spirit. I am appreciative of the finished work of the cross of the Lord, Jesus Christ, and sold out for the will of my Father who sees fit to show his authority in my life.
Life Verse: "Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you shall carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6
I have served in my church as well as others in the capacity of worship leader/worship team member. While my home church has a worship team leader, I am called on to fill in, add to our service with special music offerings, and direct my Sunday school class in worship practices and offerings during services. I have served in other Christian churches as a worship team member, guided worship and spoke at Life Group meetings, women's Bible study meetings, and the like.
The Dayspring REC community has my heart. I have served in nearly every role (with the exception of clergy) on a Residents Encounter Christ weekend. I once served on a worship team (for a full weekend of events) that consisted of myself and one other person. God made up the all the differences (there are sometimes as many as about six team members).
I have been an active member of the Dayspring Emmaus community since 2009, and currently serve on the Dayspring Emmaus board as the community training and sponsorship representative. I have contributed by leading worship at gatherings and have offered special music during Emmaus walks for both men and women as well.
I have spoken and led worship at multiple Mercy Street and Stepping Into Freedom program locations, planned and been part of special services, and also fill in often as a reliable volunteer. I was once part of the initial formation of a Mercy Street band, but that was not meant to be as we began in 2020 during major shutdowns.
My time in the United Methodist Church was a God "thing." He directly placed me in the UMC, and I grew exponentially. Lay servant classes gave me the training to grow in music ministry, as well as to fill the pulpit. I served on the worship team at my local church, and at several others. I have often served at, planned and facilitated many special services as well (prayer services, homecoming, women's retreats, youth events, spiritual gifts retreats, etc.). I preached my first sermon in 2014, and many of my spiritual "bucket list" items all either originated or occurred in (made possible by) the UMC.
