Float to all 16 adult acute care units across the OHSU Marquam Hill campus with specialties including, med surg, transplant, general surgery, trauma, orthopedics, neurology, oncology, bone marrow transplant, and cardiology.

• Perform charge nurse duties on 6A overflow unit
• Perform head to toe assessments, take vital signs, pass medications, assist patients with ADLs
• Communicate and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide patients with well rounded care and best outcomes
• Provide emotional support to patients and families
• Act as a patient advocate, assess their status and make critical decisions regarding their care

Patient population includes patients with heart failure, respiratory distress/failure, kidney disease, heart rhythm changes needing cardiac drips/monitoring, hyper/hypotension too critical for med/surg units, critical lab values, and alcohol withdrawal.
