I volunteered with my organization, B.E.E., at the annual State Farm Million Meal Pack event, which provides one million meals to unhoused individuals. The event was organized into various stations, and our team collaborated with several other volunteers. I assisted in the packing and sealing of meals, while others were responsible for food weighing and portioning, among other things. Despite the scale of the event, everyone remained committed to their roles and to helping other groups. By the end of our shift, over 300,000 meals were ready for distribution.
I volunteered to help set up for the Pink Walk, an event dedicated to raising awareness for breast cancer. Although 11 additional volunteers were scheduled for the morning shift, none arrived, so I took on multiple tasks typically shared by a larger team. I assisted in setting up flags, arranging tables, food, unloading supplies from the U-Haul, and decorating the event space.
