Calculating the Incidence of Systemic Disease in 10-Year Cohort of Patients with Sarcoidosis: An Applied Practice Experience
Pulmonary sarcoidosis is an inflammatory disease that commonly takes place in the lungs and lymph nodes, and like systemic diseases can affect multiple organ systems. The research study aimed to find the relationship between pulmonary sarcoidosis and systemic diseases, specifically inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Statistical analysis was used to determine if there is an association between the two variables. This observational study resulted in a higher percentage of female patients with sarcoidosis and diabetes being the most prevalent disease.
