As a future and aspiring optometrist, I hope to use my ocular knowledge to effectively treat all patients. My goal is to positively impact those who are visually impaired. I look forward to continue maximizing my knowledge in the healthcare industry and learn from healthcare professionals.
Every summer, my grandmother in Croatia runs a hostel business. However, she can only speak Croatian, which means that she is unable to communicate with tourists who cannot speak Croatian. As someone who can speak both Croatian and English, my responsibility is to schedule visits and provide information on pricing, potential hostel experiences, and the size, structure, design and other features of our hostel to non-Croatian speaking tourists.
I observed Dr. Norma Swenson to enhance my comprehension of optometry regarding the work environment, interactions between fellow employees and patients, filling out and organizing paperwork and the importance in detecting and treating various conditions. These experiences helped me better understand how to properly treat different patients based on their conditions and how to utilize different technologies needed to diagnose or treat patients.
I worked at different wedding venues, such as The Inn at New Hyde Park, Leonard’s Palazzo, and The Fox Hollow. At these wedding venues, I would also help run, park, and return cars to the given party guests. I would also help out with employers at car dealerships, such as Advantage Hyundai, by parking cars that require service and returning fixed cars to their rightful owners.
