Highly-motivated individual with desire to take on new challenges and expand skills while facilitating company growth. Strong work ethic, adaptability and exceptional interpersonal skills, including excellent written and oral communication. Adept at working effectively unsupervised and quickly mastering new skills.
For the past two years I was my father's caretaker, as he received a diagnosis of late-stage Parkinson's Disease in the fall of 2021. For the last eight months of his life, I was the acting home hospice caregiver. The experience I gained during that time was incomparable and more valuable to me than any position of employment could have offered.
Serving as my father's caretaker provided me a unique opportunity to hone my interpersonal skills, in handling his personal business and healthcare affairs with professionalism, refining my oral and written communication, and employing critical thinking skills to solve a variety of unexpected problems. I strove to foster a sense of teamwork with my father's healthcare providers, especially with the hospice nurses and aids who were an integral part of my father's end-of-life care. I am confident that my choice to take on the role of caregiver to my father rather than obtain employment at that time better prepared me to return to the workforce, and pursue a new career path.
