  • Working for Ray-Mont as an account manager was a job that required a tremendous amount of organization and attention to detail
  • As an account manager, I was responsible for my own set of customers
  • Those customers each required me to get bookings, create quotations based off monthly rate sheets, set up shipments to load from the rail into shipping containers with very detailed notes, as well as following these orders all the way to arrival at destination to prevent errors
  • I was required to communicate daily with customers, shipping lines, our terminals, many different trans loaders, and my coworkers
  • Things often didn't go as planned as our company could not control when the cargo ships would arrive or depart, so I was required to problem solve often and change things to make them work for my customer
  • I would get over 150 emails a day that needed responding to as well as numerous phone calls
  • I learned how to multitask well and work well in an emergency or time crunch
  • We used many systems for this job that were specific to the company, however I am very proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Teams
  • This job was mostly remote and I learned that I am able to work remotely as well as in an office environment

  • I am very comfortable on the phone and used to talking to all sorts of different kinds of people

  • Being both a teller and personal banker for two years at American West Bank has taught me a lot about leadership and problem solving
  • As a teller you're dealing with people's finances daily and there is really no room for error

  • I had to learn a lot of things in a very short amount of time, and it taught me how to take the initiative and be confident in my ability to do my job as well as train others
