  • Supervised 22 sworn school resource deputies and 4 crossing guards responsible for safety and security for over 12 thousands students on 18 campuses.
  • Maintained strong working relationships between the Highlands County Sheriff's Office and School Board of Highlands County.
  • Developed strategic plans to achieve departmental goals, aligning resources and personnel effectively.
  • Managed personnel for optimal productivity, ensuring proper training and adherence to protocols.
  • Created the first HCSO Reunification Team to partner with our schools to safely reunite students with guardians during a critical incident.
  • Started the fist Explorer Academy which provides hands on training for cadets provided by resident experts at the Highlands County Sheriff's Office.

  • Watch Commander over a Patrol Shift.
  • Assisted with the initiation of the "Sheriff's Targeted Enforcement Project" (STEP) Model, where a traffic safety initiative was conducted to reduce traffic crashes and related fatalities, which resulted in significant decreases in traffic crashes and traffic related fatalities.
  • Currently the Highlands County Sheriff's Office Chairman of the first official Highlands County Traffic Safety Team.
  • Worked with Highlands County Sheriff's Office Grant Writer, Rob Reed on a grant offered through the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for an $85,000.00 Grant for the Municipality of Avon Park in relation to traffic safety.
  • Incident Commander and law enforcement event coordinator for both Integrity Multi Sport Triathlon and Heartland Triathlon.
  • Successfully completed the Leadership Highlands program class of 2020.

Agiculture/K9 Sergeant

  • Responsible for the supervision and training of 8 K9 Teams which includes both full services and single purpose police dogs, where the certification standards have been maintained at the state and national level.
  • Certified Patrol K9 Handler, dual certified in narcotics detection.
  • Responsible for managing and growing the already established K9 Fund. Since 2011, the K9 Fund has grown in excess of $40,000.00 donation from fund raisers, hosting the 2013 USPCA Region1 Field Trials, and individuals from our community.
  • Implemented the first in-house FDLE 480 Hour Patrol K9 Course in Highlands County.
  • Responsible for budget management within the Specialized Service Division.
  • Responsible for supervision of the Agriculture Unit consisting of 5 AG Deputies which includes the Aviation and Marine Units.
  • Responsible for the supervision of the small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS) program that has recently been implemented.
  • Served 13 years with the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team.
