My duties as the foreman included operating a mini excavator to dig a trench and install ground field for transmission lines on Ga Powers circuit. We also built forms for switches and installed the ground grid for the switch, and we would install continuous grounds.
My duties included changing out bearings, rollers, pulleys, and gear boxes. Welding patches in chutes or welding a new chute in place. Fabrication and preventative maintenance.
I started out my career with Pike as a groundman, where I performed tasks such as installing and anchoring guy wires, wiring up transformers with a lightning arestor and copper wire to tie into pole once in air, and preparing everything for my lineman before he needed it. I worked my way to an operator where I operated a digger/line truck. With the truck I drilled holes in the ground with the auger and placed to distribution pole into the ground. I also installed the anchor points for the guy wire. I then was able to get into the bucket to perform “hot” work in the air.
I am dedicated to my work and company as long as I have the same in return I believe in rules and standards and teamwork
My certifications include:
