Over the past two years I have worked with CBRE. Through my time here I have learned so much and continue to do so. I have grown into a highly motivated employee with a desire to take on new challenges. I have a strong work ethic, adaptability and exceptional interpersonal skills. I work effectively unsupervised and quickly master new skills. I have taken on many different challenges here and stive to be a leader in the workplace. I take constructive criticism well and want to grow from it. I strive to learn and take every opportunity to do so. I just went through a year of courses in the CBRE sustainable tech program. Which I completed and am now able to apply for positions as a Maintenance Technician. I am now currently enrolled in a course to receive my EPA 608 Universal certificate to be able to handle refrigerants in the workplace. Once finished with that I am going to be enrolling in courses to receive my Engineers Type A license. I am a person who likes to move forward constantly in my career. Everything I do and everyone I work with I try to learn something from. There is never enough to learn.
Over the past two years, I have been employed with CBRE as a Lab Services Technician. Through 1 year I was promoted to be the lead Lab Services employee at Merck’s new Spring House Site. I have worked at 2 different sites. Which both run completely differently. I was able to quickly adapt to the day to day at this new site all while training two different new employees and taking courses to become a Maintenance Technician. I have learned how to really manage my time well through this past year. I work efficiently without as much guidance and supervision due to my supervisor working at a different site. I work well alone, but also am one who enjoys working together with others. Through my time working at Springhouse, I was based inside the Maintenance shop where I would help the Facilities team when they needed it. Giving me some hands-on experience as a maintenance technician over the past year. From changing filters, on the roof/in the building, hang white boards in labs, and shadowing the Techs around the site learning from them. As a Lab Service employee, you need to be able to connect with researchers and help with their needs. This has helped me tremendously in my customer service skills. Getting tasks done quickly and efficiently all while making the customer happy. A main goal of lab services is removing toxic and nontoxic chemicals off our site safely. I work with outside vendors and must keep a strict schedule so certain waste is removed on time. Because of this I believe I manage time very well. I keep an organized schedule, to juggle around my work, my course work, and shadowing around maintenance technicians when I have the extra time.
During my time at Stanley’s Hardware, I was a considered sales employee, then I was recently promoted to a foreman to overlook the younger employees. I was taught by men who have been around all types of contracting jobs and work trades, from concrete repair, painting, plumbing, electrical and carpentry work. I have picked up many different skills from them to apply not just to my job but to my own uses as well. I also worked in our maintenance shop where we assembled all types of models for floor display like grills, lawn mowers, wheelbarrows, and furniture etc. In our back workshop we also worked on screen window/door repair. I have built and repaired windows and doors and worked with glass cutting/glass window repair. I was one of the guys in charge of our back warehouse where I would work on both a diesel and electric forklift. I am comfortable on them in tight spaces and unloading/loading trucks if necessary. I have learned to cut keys as well. Car keys, normal keys, and double-sided keys. Locksmith work is something I have recently learned. I feel comfortable with rekeying and master keying locks. By removing cylinders and pins to match up new keys to old locks vice versa.
