In my role as an MRI technician, I am responsible for ensuring that each patient's experience during their appointment is as comfortable and efficient as possible. One of my main duties is to check patients in for their scheduled MRI appointments. This involves verifying their personal information, confirming the reason for their visit and any special instructions from their referring physician. I take this responsibility seriously, as it sets the tone for the rest of the patient's experience. After checking in, I then screen each patient to ensure that they are physically and mentally prepared for their upcoming scan. This may involve asking about any known allergies or metal implants, as well as addressing any concerns or anxieties they may have. My goal is to make sure that every patient feels heard and understood, which helps to alleviate any nerves or fears they may have about the procedure. Once a patient has been screened, I then escort them to the MRI room and get them situated on the table.
