Greetings, I am Ky’Mora Bryant, a Registered Nurse currently working at Baptist Medical Center South on our Neuro Progressive Care Unit. I currently serve as the Unit Council Chair, a preceptor, and relief charge nurse. I am a compassionate and patient educator with passion for nursing and commitment to fostering a supportive and healing environment.   • Collaborated with teams members on Falls for our Performance Improvement Project.
  • Initiated ideas to decrease the number of inpatient falls on our unit.
  • Increased the compliance of the fall prevention bundle, encouraging staff to use the Morse Fall Scale and identifying fall risk factors.
  • Educating patients and their families about the importance of safety and reducing falls.
  • Assessing the need for AVASUREs and safety sitters if needed.

  • Utilized critical thinking skills to prioritize nursing interventions based on patients'' acuity levels and individual needs.
  • Initiating a "Code Stroke" on patients who present with neurological deficits that deviate from their baseline.
  • Conducted thorough patient assessments to identify changes in condition on post TNK patients after ICU downgrade, promptly notifying physicians and initiating appropriate interventions when necessary.
  • Monitoring neurological status, administering medications and providing education about post Ischemic event management such as medications, therapy, risk factors and follow-up appointments.
  • Perform daily NIH assessments per shift and as needed, assist with STAT and routine CT scans for TIAs, Ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes.
  • Collaborate with Interdisciplinary teams to coordinate a plan of care for the patients. Such as Physical, Occupational, Speech, Internal medicine and Neurology.
  • Unit Council Chair: February 2023- Current. Lead and facilitate plans within my unit to improve patient care and increase unit morale. Monitoring the implementation of the changes made to the unit, organizing policies at a unit and campus wide level, bridging the unit and higher-level leadership to make sure information flows between both parties.
  • Day shift Relief Charge Nurse: Feb 2024 -Current Supervising and overseeing the unit, giving guidance to support my nursing team, advocating for patients and the nurses, ensuring the protocols and policies are being followed, staffing for the upcoming night shift to meet the needs of the unit. Being a resource and acting in a timely manner during emergent situations. Motivating the nursing team and supporting patients and their families.
  • Preceptor: Oct 2024- Current Assisted in the training and mentorship of new nursing staff members, contributing to a positive work environment and high-quality patient care.
