Lamont A. Coleman is an NAACP Award-winning actor for his performance in Paula J. Parker's The Last Street play and is commonly recognized as the electrifying Reverend Waters on Tyler Perry's hit television series, The Haves, and the Have Nots, on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). Lamont has been writing and producing award-winning films and plays since 1996. In the Closet, which won Best Religious Film at the 2009 San Diego Black Film Festival (SDBFF), Mama & Me, a documentary on his mother's illness with Dementia, won the Silver Ace Award 2012 Las Vegas Film Festival. In Da Cut, a film featuring Johnny Brown, won Best Religious Film, once again, at the SDBFF 2014. Then hit back in 2018 at the Burbank International Film Festival for Best Religious Film, with Cookies & Crime.
Lamont and Rosemarie opened their own Non-Profit Repertory Theater, called "The Coleman & Smith Artistic Company" or "COLSAC" for short in 1996. COLSAC has been operating for over 20 years, rapidly expanding in size and prestige along the way. While serving COLSAC, Lamont was a continual award-winning thespian, often receiving excellent reviews in the local papers. Additionally, he won the NAACP Theater Award for his set design for "Street Disciples." For his overall contributions to the Arts, he received a special recognition certificate from Congresswoman Maxine Waters.
