• Performed daily tasks such as daily logs, truck checks, mileage checks on the trucks and UTV.
• Proficient in constructing fuel breaks using hand tools such as Pulaski, McLeod, Rhino, shovel, rake, axe, wedge pounder, and power saws to control the spread of fires and create piles for prescribed burning. As well as maintaining the tools and keeping them sharp and fire ready and being able to safely operate to prevent injuries.
• Proficient with the use of ignition devices such as drip torches and hand toss devices.
• Worked with chainsaws and being able to limb, buck, and cut down small trees with a supervisor to obtain the next certification as a sawyer.

Being able to wet mop with a bladder bag and a gas-powered pump with a hose. As well as learning to dry mop with the use of a tool and cold dirt to mix and cool the hot material.
• Watch fire line to locate spot fires, hot spots, and flareups that can pose a threat to the integrity of the Fireline.
• Being able to perform other duties while not working fire suppressing or fuel management duties. Such as timer, recreation, and reforestation.
• Performing daily PT’s to be in shape by running, performing circuits, hiking and weight training either being performed by myself or with the crew.
• Driving the crew one ton trucks and using the UTV in an efficient manner.
