Laura Alvarez Linik

Columbus,OH

Summary

My name is Laura Alvarez Linik, I am a sixteen year old Grandview Heights High School student looking for a job. I am a part of multiple sports such as the swim team and track and field. I also participate in costless school clubs like Key Club, the Anti Racism Collective, cooking club, and hoping to join many more next year. I am a very detailed oriented individual that always want to ensure the work I do is up to the right standards. I was born in Spain and moved to the United States when I was four, and was able to quickly learn English up to the level of other students in just one year. Due to this I have always found myself to be a great communicator because I love to get to know others and collaborate further with them. I am truly a responsibly person that ensures all tasks are done in time, not rushed and sloppy, but instead done with patience and good effort to ensure everything is completed. Throughout my prior job experiences I have learned many lessons and skills that I believe will bring me much success in this position. I am eager to potentially get the chance to work for you, and get to accomplish things along side you. I hope you take all this into consideration while making your decision, thank you!

  • Listening Skills - Many times a young swimmer has approached me entrusting me with fears or even exciting things happening in their lives In order to gain a relationship where they will trust and respect you have to be able to listen and address their worries and concerns
  • Collaboration - With the different jobs I have had it is immensely important to be able to work with and along side your peers With this skill I have been able to successfully accomplish what is need with the colleagues surrounding me
  • Problem Solving - When this go wrong during a swim lesson or practice I've had to adjust things to ensure the situation is dealt with For example, when two swimmers begin to fight I had to quickly separate them discuss the problems at hand and attempt to solve them while still having to teach a whole group
  • Reliability - In order to build trust with my colleagues and people in charge of me it has been vital to be reliable No matter whats happening in my personal life I will always show up and consistently put in the best effort possible
