• Worked in pre-assessment, intra room with physicians and post op
• Started IV's and provided education and training, prior to procedure along with post-op education and training.
• Under physicians direction I administered twilight sedation, monitored patient condition by interpreting and tracking EKG readings, identifying irregular telemetry readings and updating team members on changes in stability or acuity.
• During procedure I collected blood, tissue and other laboratory specimens and prepared for lab testing.
• Educated patients, families and caregivers on diagnosis and prognosis, treatment options, disease process and management and lifestyle options.

• Worked in both Pre-op and Post op within a busy same day surgery center that focused on various type of surgeries: plastics, eye surgeries, urological procedures, breast biopsies, hand surgeries. and facial surgeries.
• Reviewed pre-assessments, started IV's , settled the patients into the center.
• Post Op monitor the patients for rapidly changing conditions, provided meds, as directed by the physician when needed, and provide education and training upon discharge when in order.
• Covered plastic surgery over night stays, 2-4 times a week. Monitored any changes in the patients condition, provided support, and if meds were needed would be in close contact with the surgeons. Education and training was provided to patient and family members when discharged.

• Started intravenous fluids, administered medications and documented patient charts by recording food and fluid output and intake.
• Managed caseload 4-7 patients simultaneously by providing bedside care, treatments, IV therapy and wound care.
• Educated patients and families on medical-surgical procedures, therapeutic regimens and pain management techniques.
• Managed patients' pain by implementing pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain management intervention. Worked Day and Evening Shifts and was Charge Nurse periodically throughout tenure.
