NURSING OFFICER- COVID ISOLATION UNIT/MED-SURG UNIT(40 BEDS)

Providing direct total nursing care delivery to patients infected with covid 19 in acute/critical condition, those infected and symptomatic with both mild and severe conditions; Basic monitoring(TPR BP and SPo2) recognizing abnormal findings and informing the doctor; Safe practice of infection prevention and control measures through implementation of universal standard precautions such a proper hand hygiene, respiratory hygiene, proper use of PPEs, isolation care and monitoring, proper donning and doffing practices, disinfection practices as well as related environmental measures; Administration of iv fluids, TPNS, appropriate nutrition for patients with gastrotomy tubes as well as NG tubes; Providing psychological support to those isolated because of covid 19; Providing health education and training patients as well as other healthcare providers in strategies for infection prevention as well as self protective strategies such as regular hand washing with soap and water, avoiding touching the eyes, nose and mouth, social distancing etc to prevent nosocomial infections; Maintain clinical equipment and regular inventory of all consumable and non consummables items and equipment; Ensure proper drug administration in accordance with established guidelines and protocols used with the shift manager.
