- Coordinate surgeries with multiple disciplines such as colorectal, urology, neurosurgery with plastic and reconstructive surgery to best care of the patient
- Run clinic for busy plastic and reconstructive surgeon and see over 40 patients a day, most needing dressing changes prior to being discharged from the clinic
- Perform charge nurse duties such as running clinic, creating schedules, and making staffing decisions for short notice changes
- Perform sterile procedures and specimen collections alongside general surgeons, plastic surgeons, endocrine surgeons and peripheral vascular surgeons
- Perform hand hygiene audit for unit monthly
- Perform ambulatory surgery tracer audit or Joint Commission Information collection
- Provide direct patient care to postoperative patients for follow up clinic visits with provider, which includes doing wound care
- Float to Oral Maxillofacial Surgery to monitor moderate sedation surgical patients pre-op, intraop, and post op
- Perform IV placement for conscious sedation in colonoscopy cases under the direct supervision of the attending physician
- Monitor conscious sedation patients pre-op, intra-op, post-op and provide teaching to patient and family members aftercare.
