I receive public emergency, non-emergency, and general calls and supervise response prioritization in order to effectively dispatch official units such as police, fire and EMS while tracking data in real-time environments. Calls require reading system maps and caller information, and documenting details in system. I question callers to determine nature of problems and locations to direct type of response needed. My primary communications are telephonic and radio transmissions to receive requests and reports from police officers, medical dispatch and firefighting crews. I search and/or enter criminal record checks, driver's license numbers and warrants into telecommunications systems to fulfill officer requests. I frequently use ACIC, NCIC, JWICS, and Integraph CAD. While on radio, I complete appropriate forms and radio announcements for police department needs such as ATL, PSAP, and multi-agency broadcasts. I also manage Detention radio channels, Inmate movement reports, Civil calls for service, and community service phone lines.
I oversee a team of employees schedules, work assignments, completion of daily tasks, and monthly evaluations. As a lead, I approve time cards, daily finance close out and validations for the financial transactions for bond payments. Several Microsoft Outlook folders for problem solving, supervisor approval, court documents, psychiatric holds, 48 hour District Attorney files, and inmate inquisitions. I also process completed inmate files and releases. Before becoming a lead, I was a SIMS Clerk and my responsibilities included answer phone calls from the public, updating court records in city and county courts, process new paper work and inmate files, date confirming and entering other agency warrants, and processing bondsmen requests. I use the county program's SHIELD, ICIS, ADP, and the HUB, almost daily to accomplish tasks.
I manage computer entries of protective orders, warrants, and national entries of people, vehicles, and items. I am responsible for creating, organizing, verifying, and storing files. I process requests for data entry thru telephonic, fax, and electric requests. I assist in the major clerical services offered by the Sheriff's department. I use the following programs daily: JMS, JWI, Filebound, Microsoft Excel, and ICIS court reporting.
