My prior experiences consist of working as a salesperson/inventory manager at a semi/ag part store where I worked there for 2 years. There I was in charge of making sure all of our inventory numbers were correct in our system to what we had on our shelves. I would also sell parts to customers where I was also working in shipping and receiving, delivery, and dipped my toes into filling out paperwork for the company.
Some more prior experience is my more current job at Bonnie Plants. I have been working at Bonnie Plants for 2 years now. I work as an on-road salesman helper. This is where I would load and unload trucks and go on our route to Grand Rapids, Michigan to service stores.
We had 35 stores we had to service in a week period and then the week following we would restart. We had a wide variety of plants that we would have to put out and meet the demand of certain stores in certain areas. This job is very physically bearing. The carts that the plants come on are easily 100 – 150lbs a cart, where we must manually pull and load ourselves. In this job area I learned about the demands of the plant business. I also learned more about plants and how to take care of plants. I also learned about the process of production of Bonnie Plants products. From potting the soil to the germination of the plants and how they are treated with certain chemicals. I also had to learn protocol on shipping and handling organic plants and how it is different from the other plants that we would put out into stores.
