Greetings, my name is Layonna Harris. My most recent experience is a Specialist III, CAR-T Cell Therapy at Kite Pharma. My educational experience has given me knowledge of biochemistry, microbiology, chemistry, physics, anatomy, and more scientific-related fields. I am ready to provide my skills and insight to help the company succeed.
My function in the Specialist III position is to train my colleagues in all aspects of our day-to -day processes. These processes include the use of equipment such as BSCs, Nucleocounters, Sefias, SESs, and Prodigy systems. During my time at Kite, I have received my certificate to be qualified trainer. I also have experience with SOP writing, editing, and revising. I am currently working closely with MSAT and QA to obtain more knowledge with process improvement as well as batch review.
I am currently responsible for revising documents, such as SOPs and SPRs. The equipment used for the processes are pH meters, osmometers, and Biological Safety Cabinets. I also have experience with document change control and I am currently taking courses for technical writing. I have recently assisted the manufacturing science team with a clinical study. I assisted in technical support process refinement to improve customer service and support. Lastly, I am proficient in network protocols, DHCP, DNS and SMPT.
Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited creates immunotherapy medicines for patients with rare diseases. This medicine is created from the kind donations of peoples' plasma. In the department I work in, we only use the immunoglobulin of the plasma. As a Manufacturing Technician II, I am responsible for training my co-workers in the areas that I am signed off in. There are four areas in the IG (immunoglobulin) department, and I am fully signed off in three: Solvent/Detergent, Post Nano, and Buffer. I have been partially signed off in Post SD (Solvent/Detergent). Within in these rooms, I have knowledge of LIMS, Chromatography, Filtration, CUNO Assembly, Cell Culture, CIP, COP, Media Prep, and Buffer makeups; That is just to name a few. With the company being fairly new, I am considered to be one of the senior members in the department, so I have taken on leadership roles as well.
At my time at General Mills, my job role required loading lines with cereal boxes, and troubleshooting the Twin Pack machine that I was responsible for. I also did physical labor (building boxes, working tote lines, and having experience with working upstream and downstream on the Twix and Bugles lines. I did not have an opportunity to gain the knowledge of another line because I enrolled in college to continue my education (This is the reason for the slight gap in my work experience).
