I am an EMT with a passion for helping others. I am a hard-working perfectionist with a determination to learn more about medicine. I am currently in nursing school, and I want to work in a pediatric ER setting. I thrive under pressure and hope to provide the best care possible for my patients.
As an EMT at The Medical Center of Aurora, I was responsible for various tasks, including assisting in maintaining patient comfort and safety, monitoring psychiatric patients' vital signs, and assisting in the care of critical patients.
As an EMT at AMR, I was trained in various skills, including radio communications, operating an emergency vehicle, and maintaining patient care in emergent and non-emergent contexts. I also familiarized myself with Denver Metro geography and the major hospital systems of the area. Over my time at AMR, I had approximately 1,400 patient contact hours and 2,000 hours driving an ambulance.
As a shift manager, I refined my leadership, communication, de-escalation techniques, and flexibility skills. My responsibilities included training new and existing employees, supervising my team regarding quality compliance and food safety, and ensuring my team had the resources necessary to operate smoothly. Day to day, I was thrown into a variety of positions, so being able to adapt was a must.
As an administrative assistant, I managed attendance records, scheduling, and donations, as well as greeted visitors, set up classes, and fixed necessary equipment.
I am an Emergency Medical Technician. I started out as an EMT at American Medical Response. I learned a lot during my time there, especially relating to prehospital work. I grew my skills and gained confidence as an EMT. During my time at AMR, we had the Children's Hospital contract. I found these calls challenging and impactful. This time highlighted my goal of nursing and ER work. I moved to The Medical Center of Aurora to improve my in-hospital skills and knowledge. My goal is to become a pediatric ER nurse. I started nursing school, and I am on track to graduate in December 2025.
