I am a bedside RN in the Continuing Care Nursery (CCN), a level II NICU.

Employed as a travel nurse in the Continuing Care Nursery (CCN), a level II NICU.

I was employed as a travel nurse in a pediatric long term care facility. I aided patients with chronic illnesses and disabilities ranging in age from 9 months to 21 years.

I was employed as a travel nurse in the pediatric recovery care unit. I cared for patients recovering from tonsillectomies, fractures, appendectomies, foreign body ingestions, etc. The age of patients cared for were from newborn to 18 years of age.

• Interacted with child welfare personnel and social workers in cases involving concerns about overall well-being.
• Communicated with healthcare team members to plan, implement and enhance treatment strategies.
• Educated family members and caregivers on patient care instructions.
• Used first-hand knowledge and clinical expertise to advocate for patients under care and enacted prescribed treatment strategies.
• Evaluated patient histories, complaints, and current symptoms.
• Managed patients recovering from medical or surgical procedures.
• Provided skilled, timely and level-headed emergency response to critically-ill patients.

Staff nurse for Pediatric Float Pool. Areas of patient care included NICU, PICU, Pediatric ED, and Pediatric acute care units.

• Delivered individualized instruction on observation, assessment, decision-making and patient health teaching.

• Supervised students when administering medications to maintain patient safety.

During my time as a staff nurse at Huntsville Hospital, I worked with the acute care pediatric population. I transferred to Helen Keller Hospital (within the Huntsville Hospital Health System) in February of 2016, where I continued to work with the pediatric population, as well as, the newborn nursery.
