As a summer camp counselor, I worked with groups of about 10-12 campers, usually between 4-12 years old. This involved leading them through different activities such as games, crafts, lessons, and outdoor activities all while creating a positive, fun, and exciting atmosphere for them. I also learned how to handle situations professionally, respectfully, and calmly during incidents like injuries or conflicts between campers.
I also facilitated rope and zip line courses as well as rock climbing and tree climbing courses. This involved me setting up and checking the functionality of courses and equipment, putting harnesses and helmets on campers correctly, mounting them on the courses correctly, and following strict guidelines to ensure their safety.
