Leila Sholokhova

I am a high school sophomore, attending Awty International School. Involved in three year round sports: Volleyball, Basketball, and Track. Completed a month long leadership training course and became certified in Lifeguarding (Including Deep Water) with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid, Waterfront Skills, Administering Emergency Oxygen, Asthma and Quick- Relief Medication Administration and Anaphylaxis and Epinephrine Auto-Injector. I am bilingual in Russian and English with an intermediate level in Spanish. Currently, working with the Dean of School as a student ambassador. Organized and dependable candidate and successful at managing time and activities.

I attended a month long leadership program at Deer Crossing Wilderness Camp. We became certified lifeguards and avid swimmers as we swam a mile across the lake at night. I taught campers how to kayak on the lake and led various groups of campers in different activities. We memorized an entire book named Influence by Robert Cialdini to help our memory. At the end of the month long program we led a three day outtrip into Desolation Wilderness without any food or gear and learned how to orienteer, catch fish, and many other survival skills.
