Owner / Operator of my own company
Bailey Recovery and Landscape
Big Pine Key
02.2011 - 10.2019
I ran my own company in the field of fencing and landscaping.
Here I provide detailed architectural hardscape and landscape feature's to high end clients who wanted their own private oasis without having to leave the property.
This entailed tree and plant installation, sod coverage, rock walls, grotto's for pools and fencing of all variety's.
Moving Operator/Owner
Two fella's and a Big Vehicle
Tulsa
08.2006 - 02.2011
I bought into a moving company in Tulsa and ran a crew of four for home relocation and moving services.
My duties included, scheduling of staff and our services, payroll, and some heavy lifting.
I learned a great deal with working for so many different family's from all walks of life and found it rewarding to make my customers feel safe and ease them of the many worries they had during such a stressful time as relocating one's life can be.
Security guard
Rick's and Durty Harry's Entertainment complex
Key West
07.1996 - 08.2006
I began work there as a bouncer and worked my way up to head of security after 3 years on the floor.
My job included crowd control, conflict resolution, security and safety of the nine bars on the complex, positioning staff at secure locations, scheduling and money management for end of day business.
My experience here taught me a lot about patients, empathy, and the ability to hear people out for the issues they were having while in an intoxicated state.
The ability to talk someone into doing the right thing to avoid trouble for themselves spoke volumes to the example I was trying to set in such a rough environment.
Part time restaurant manager
Bay Point Pizza
Bay Point
12.1994 - 05.2004
My mother had opened a pizza restaurant just after I had finished school.
We had the opportunity to run a family business that brought us all closer together.
The level of service we provide was 2nd to none and we were published in local magazine's and at the time Zagat rated.
I learned how to maintain structure on the line and this was my first experience working not only as a family, but as a team.
This job entailed for me scheduling, sales, money management, and true patients.
The only reason this business does not exist today, is that we could not suffer running this place without our mother after she passed.
