Hello, my name is Lesly Chavez, a resident of Colorado since birth. I pride myself on being a diligent and enthusiastic individual in pursuit of opportunities. My exceptional organizational abilities serve as an indication of my dedication to accomplishing numerous objectives. It is my utmost desire to fulfill my aspirations and ambitions due to the tragic loss of my brother, primarily centered around completing nursing school with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Subsequently, I aim to continue my educational journey by pursuing a degree as a Nurse Practitioner (NP).
When I do get some time off, one of my favorite things to do is drive out to our ranch, where me and my family keep our horses, and spend some time riding and working with them. As soon as I am able to take a break from school, I like to spend time with my family and do fun activities with them in the mountains or on the ranch. I also have aspirations of competing in a rodeo someday in the future. I adore being in the outdoors. I also love anything to do with beauty whether thats doing my makeup, skin care, and fashion.
Girls Rising
I volunteered for 'Girls Rising,' as it is a global campaign and movement that focuses on promoting girls' education and empowerment. Participating in 'Girls Rising' initiatives offers girls numerous advantages, including improved access to education, empowerment, leadership development, and a heightened awareness of gender equality issues. These programs often foster a sense of self-confidence and the skills needed to advocate for their rights. Girls can engage in community activities, benefit from mentorship, and enjoy better health and well-being outcomes.
DAWN Clinic
I volunteer at the DAWN Clinic, where I work alongside doctors, medical students, and nursing students to develop care plans for individuals who seek medical attention but do not have health insurance.
CU Street Medicine
I also volunteer with CU Street Medicine, where our team provides care to individuals with limited access to shelter and healthcare. We offer immediate assistance when possible and refer patients to clinics or hospitals for additional care as needed.
