I knew I was meant for more in life after being homeless and addicted to substances for 5 years. I had been a mother to three children, owned my home, and a separate property prior to becoming homeless and addicted to substances. I found myself with a felony conviction and knew I couldn’t do a term in prison, so I took a leap of faith. I completed Felony drug court in 18 months with a perfect attendance, I was secretary of 2 NA meetings a week, managed to obtain my own 2 bedroom apartment and maintained it. I knew then I was meant to support people and lead by example and that is what I e been doing for over 5 years now.
