  • Achieved "Great Catch" award when a pediatric patient came in for bad right hip pain. Ultrasound demonstrated hip effusion and the radiologist agreed. There was an error in reading the ultrasound report by the ER doctor who read it as a negative study for hip effusion. The patient was admitted and was about to be involved in a lot of unnecessary tests and procedures because of an error in reading the report. Luckily, I followed up with the patient and saw what was happening. I then called the pediatric surgeon so we could fix the actual problem and help the patient feel better.
