Held multiple leadership positions: Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Librarian, Patrol Leader, and Crew Leader.
As Assistant Senior Patrol Leader: I led weekly meetings along with the Senior Patrol Leader. I planned troop campouts which involved planning meals, location, and activities. Taught younger scouts a variety of skills ranging from first aid to knots, using the EDGE method. Gained valuable leadership skills.
As Crew Leader I led 12 men on a 15-day backpacking trip across the backcountry of New Mexico. My responsibilities included: ensuring everyone's safety at all times, navigating and orientating a map and compass, delegating work and organizing a chore schedule, keeping the troop on time, setting up and tearing down the campsites, and coordinating with the Philmont Scout Ranch and its employees.
Earned CPR certification and Wilderness First Aid certificate.
