Dedicated and engaged student with a strong interest in politics, government, advocacy and social change. Experience in documentary film production, theater, and supporting youth summer programs. Rigorous coursework including at the Eastern Middle School Humanities Magnet Program and the Communications Art Program (CAP) at Montgomery Blair High School. Relevant courses include AP United States Government & Politics and Honors United States History among other honors humanities, science and math courses. Recently completed CAP Congress, where CAP students spent a week conceiving of and drafting a bill addressing a real-world issue and moving it from committee to the full chamber for consideration and vote. A committed Girl Scout for over 10 years, with over 270 Student Service Learning (SSL) Hours earned.
Served as camp counselor and teaching assistant to Round House Theatre Teaching Artists for children Grades 1-6. Built classroom management skills and learned to facilitate theatre arts education experience.
Supported the Summer Media Institute for Eastern Middle School's Humanities Program, working with rising 6th graders to learn how to use the school's media lab to create a movie trailer from start to finish. Provided mentorship and guidance to groups of students throughout the course of their project.
