I currently am an undergraduate research assistant for the LSU LEND Lab. This lab works with families across Baton Rouge by collecting language samples and EEG data from children to better understand how their backgrounds promote language and brain health. As a research assistant for LEND Lab I have administered the PPVT, TOPEL, QUILS, DELV and ELLA assessments to children within Baton Rouge. I also transcribe language samples collected to further analyze through SALT.
I volunteered as a book buddy completing 40 hours of volunteer service at the children's hospital. As a book buddy I visited patients in their rooms with a book cart, and read books to them to make their time more enjoyable. Through this I gained patient parent interaction experience and communicated with staff members to stay informed on different patients in the hospital.
As a receptionist I work with clients directly and assist them in creating appointments, managing payments and answering questions and resolving issues they may have in person and over the phone. Through this job I have learned professional skills such as organization and time management and gained years of customer service experience.
