Accomplishments
In my role as Director of DEI Programs at Oakwood School, I was recognized as an innovator and launched several firsts in the Los Angeles independent school community. These included annual K–12 DEI Symposiums; age-appropriate racial and social justice curricula for elementary and middle school students; the Voices Envisioned speaker series; and the creation of the first-ever UC-approved high school course, Introduction to Racial Literacy. One of my most meaningful accomplishments was guiding the introduction of a 1619 Project–based curriculum as a year-long DEI focus for faculty, staff, and administrators, supporting deep institutional learning and reflection.
