Pre-Operative

• Admit patient to pre op bay specific to order of surgeries.
• Obtain and chart vitals. Report any findings outside normal limits to CRNA.
• Review history and physical with patient to ensure accuracy.
• Administer medications as ordered per provider.
• Start IV and appropriate fluids per protocol.
• Inform family members of time to expect patient to be done in surgery and follow up accordingly.

Post-Operative

• Start vitals on arrival to post operative care.
• Review post operative instructions with patient/family.
• Monitor patient for any adverse reactions to medications including Malignant Hyperthermia, Vasovagal syncope as well as abnormal heart rhythms.
• Use of Ambu bags and chin tilt methods as needed.

Triage - Admission and Discharge

• Assisted with admissions, appointments, transfers, and discharges.
• Demonstrated excellent technical skills in wound dressing changes, IV therapy administration, catheter insertion, and other routine nursing procedures.
• Collected samples as needed to expedite procedure.
• Assisted with suturing, I&D, nail removal, staples, catheter insertion/removal as required.
• Administered vaccinations as required.
• Triage patients during covid pandemic to ensure patients were at proper facility.
• Assisted with MI patients including 12 lead ECG and IV insertion with patient monitoring until ambulance arrived.
• Assisted with evaluation for CDL including lab draw and UA as needed.
• CPR in emergent situations.

Lead PCT

• Informed PCT/HUC of duties and assisted with understanding of scope of practices.
• Assisted with transfer of patients from ED to Pre-op area.
• Assisted Anesthesia with patient position during spinal tap as well as handing instruments to appropriate team members.
• Assisted with CBI, wound vac, catheter as needed.
• Stocked appropriate area as required.
• Assisted with Malignant Hyperthermia as required.
• Assisted with code blue as needed.
• Assisted with thyroid storm crisis.
