Starting on 8/2020 with Oakland County, I started off as a Case Investigator for COVID 19 cases. Calling each positive case, reviewing signs/symptoms, medical history, linking them with any care management they could need help with, and community resources.
My position has evolved into a Supervisor position managing our team of remote treatment navigators and investigating other communicable diseases (Hepatitis A, B, CPO, Varicella, Strep Pneumonia to name a few) which consisted of gathering data from files, histories, medical charting, and filling out the MDSS detail form, communicating with Hospital/Facility Infection Preventionists, Long Term Care Facility Directors, as well as partnering with the MDHHS MDRO unit to investigate cases.
Another key part of my role as a supervisor was running audits, charting reviews, creating aggregate cases in MDSS, and providing community education to long term care facilities with outbreak concerns.
