LISA AGUILAR

As an ordained priest at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral (2022-2023) and St. Augustine Episcopal Church (2024-current), I celebrate and preach, officiate at weddings and funerals, lead adult formation and children's ministries, and plan for each liturgical season. Some of the adult formation that I have led include studies on Psalms, Acts, Hebrews, I Corinthians, Walking the Mourner's Path (grief group), and Sacred Ground. I also attend and assist with Vestry and other committee meetings as needed.

As a hospital chaplain, I minister at the bedside and assess the Spiritual Care needs of the patient and their loved ones. I support families as they process the death of a loved one. I provide baptism, reconciliation and blessings upon request. At Nebraska Medicine, the chaplain also coordinates a family's decisions regarding funeral home and autopsy. Finally, my work also includes spiritual and emotional care for nurses, techs, doctors, and any other hospital staff.

As the Safety and In-Home Coordinator at Lutheran Family Services in Omaha, NE, I coordinated staff assignments for a team of 15-20 Family Support and Parenting Time Specialists. I met with each staff member weekly to review their documentation and case load assignments, and to provide support to them. I led weekly staff meetings to review procedures and improve staff skills and attended Team Meetings with the professional team for each parent(s) to address goals for reunification with their children.

As a Chaplain Resident, and later a staff chaplain, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN, I focused much of my work on caring for cardiac patients and nursing staff. I developed pastoral relationships with cardiac patients recovering from surgery, experiencing heart arrhythmia, and living with heart failure. I also led weekly group support sessions during patients' cardiac rehabilitation.

At GKH Partners, I maintained financial records for 14 different investment properties as a consultant. I processed accounts payable and accounts receivable, calculated investor distributions, calculated building depreciation, and tracked its properties' agricultural land valuation and taxation rates. I am QuickBooks Certified and have completed undergraduate coursework in accounting.

At Jefferson Hills in Lakewood, CO, I was a Youth Treatment Counselor in a therapeutic residential treatment center. I provided care for adolescent boys with emotional, mental health and behavioral needs. During this time, I led small groups on family systems, supervised recreation time, led community discussions, and helped residents with their daily routines.
