'I've always relied on my communication skills to be a successful customer service
representative, as my work focuses on listening to the client and working with them to find a
solution. I ‘ve primarily spoken with clients over the phone and overcome the challenges of this
communication method by paraphrasing their concerns and asking clarifying questions. I also
demonstrate empathy by acknowledging their frustrations and maintaining a calm, respectful
demeanor. A few months ago, I spoke with a old customer who was upset because she wasn’t
satisfied with her new stylist.
I allowed her to explain her frustrations and understood that she was experiencing new client
anxiety. After informing her that her new stylist was one of the best in town and assured her that
the new stylist and I have done hair shows and taken classes together this resolved the issue she
was experiencing. My communication skills not only helped the customer receive peace of mind
but also allowed her to appreciate an great stylist.
