I was a member of the State Employees Association of NC (SEANC) for over 24 years and most of my membership time I was active in a position within my district service in many roles from communications chairperson to secretary/treasurer. I assisted with new employee orientation, State level committees as well as local chapter and state level recognitions/awards. This position also had me assist with new employee orientation and going over SEANC and the benefits of membership. Assisted with enrollment of new SEANC members.
At Caswell Developmental Center I served on many committee. I was head of the State Employees Combined Campaign for several years, with my first year as chairperson, raising the most money ever for the charities that participate in the SECC. I was recognized by the State level chairperson for my outstanding role. I also served as the center's wellness committee health fair coordinator and as previously mentioned, blood drive coordinator.
As a Cub Scout leader I started a program with the Pack I was a part of coming to Caswell Developmental Center to Christmas carol and provide gifts to the unit/home that was chosen by volunteer services for the group to sing for. This since, started an annual tradition for this Cub Scout pack.
Over the years while living in Kinston, NC I volunteered in schools, sports, community festivals,, and service as treasurer for a county commissioner campaign, which enabled me to learn new skills through the board of elections.
