• Serves as a member of a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, evaluation, and monitoring of patients for health options and services.

Performed five years of full-time core staff (2003-2008) conducting duties as a charge nurse, preceptor, and patient advocate. Performing 17 years as a per diem/PRN nurse (2008-present), often floating to different medical floors based on the hospital's needs. Delivers high-quality, patient-centered care, providing pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. Serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

Assesses patient conditions during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting changes in patient status. Performs procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider, such as the removal of pacing wires, chest tubes, and right internal jugular IVs. Documents the administration of care in the patient electronic medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Performs the administration of prescribed medications, to include titratable IV drip, such as heparin, milrinone, and amiodarone. Maintains knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients. Manages patients on post-operative day one who underwent cardiac, thoracic surgeries, or cardiac procedures.
