I would love to work at the VA in Iowa City for several reasons. I really would like to end my nursing career with retirement in approx 5 yrs. I would really welcome and appreciate the chance to make a difference in the life of our veterans. I have 2 sons that are veterans and I just want to give back even a little appreciation and love to the Veteran's who have sacrificed so much for all of us. I didn't realize how really important this was to me until I had to decline the job offer last summer from Ia City Va. I love patient care and would just enjoy doting on our veteran's and I feel they deserve this.
I hope for an interview. I do have a few needs, I have always worked the weekends and day shift since I have become a Nurse. The previous job offer I received last summer I think was Fri, Sat, Sun 0700-1930 weekly and a 8hr day shift Monday every other week. I do continue to babysit my little Granddaughter but will start babysitting 1 day a week instead of 3 sometime in July or August. I would be available to start the end of August or Early September of 2024 if that can be accommodated and that would allow me to give a 2-3 month notice if possible.
Thanks for the opportunity. Lorraine Hardt RN
