Background to Ministry

I was not raised in a Seventh-day Adventist home. During my early teen years, my mother was invited by a friend to attend a Revelation Seminar. That invitation became the beginning of our journey into the Seventh-day Adventist Church. While I began attending church, it wasn’t until high school that I experienced a real, saving relationship with Jesus. As I began to read the Word of God for myself, I discovered that in it was life—hope, purpose, and the voice of a Savior who was calling me personally.

During high school, I felt a clear call to ministry. I began giving personal Bible studies to individuals—some of whom I later witnessed being baptized. This experience ignited a deeper passion for evangelism and ultimately led me to bring the good news to my public high school of over 3,000 students. I launched a weekly Bible study club on campus, accompanied by bi-monthly outreach events that drew increased interest in Adventist churches and youth conferences. The testimonies I shared during Sabbath School inspired other young people to start similar Bible clubs at their own schools. From 2017 to 2020, three public high schools in Grand Rapids hosted Adventist-led Bible study groups. I also had the privilege of organizing youth conferences in my hometown, which attracted youth from across Michigan and helped build a growing movement of youth-led evangelism.

Never would I have imagined being where I am today. Growing up in Orlando, all I knew was the hood and basketball. Yet, by God’s grace, I now stand as a minister in the church that holds the truth. I’m continually amazed at how the Lord has led my life, and I eagerly look forward to seeing where He will lead me next. Today, I find joy in sharing Jesus with others, spending time in the Word, and staying active through sports. I’m also incredibly grateful to have met the love of my life, Hana Getahun, who became my wife on May 25, 2025. Blessings to all who take the time to read this resume.
