• Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments, enabling students to refine their work and achieve higher grades.
• Assist with the development and implementation of new course materials to enhance a good learning experience.
• Keep accurate records of student performance to track student progress and provide feedback on performance.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff in curriculum reviews to improve course and program offerings.

Key Responsibilities
1. Specimen Collection and Handling
• Collect, label, and prepare clinical specimens such as blood, urine, sputum, swabs, and other body fluids for microbiological analysis.
• Ensure proper storage and transport conditions for specimens to maintain their integrity.
2. Laboratory Testing
• Perform routine microbiological tests, including culture, staining, microscopy, and biochemical tests, to identify microorganisms.
• Conduct antimicrobial susceptibility testing to determine the most effective treatments for infections.
• Prepare media, reagents, and solutions required for microbiological tests.
3. Quality Control
• Adhere to quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
• Participate in proficiency testing and quality assurance programs.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment according to protocols.
4. Data Management and Reporting
• Record and analyze test results accurately and promptly.
• Prepare and maintain detailed laboratory records and logs.
• Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation as required.
5. Infection Control and Safety
• Follow biosafety guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure a safe working environment.
• Properly dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste according to safety protocols.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
6. Equipment Maintenance
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
• Report any malfunctions or issues with equipment to the supervisor for prompt resolution.
7. Support and Collaboration
• Assist senior laboratory scientists and other healthcare professionals with specialized tests and procedures.
• Participate in laboratory meetings, training sessions, and continuing education opportunities.
8. Administrative Duties
• Manage inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents, ensuring timely ordering and restocking.
• Assist in maintaining laboratory cleanliness and organization.

Key responsibilities:
• Supervise the activities of community peer educators/counselor & Tester.
• Collate daily activities reports and develop and disseminate monthly and quarterly reports using appropriate tracking tools
• Support in Conducting HCT and referral services for community members;
• Assist in mobilizing community stakeholders and youth/volunteers for peer education training and HCT.
• Provide support for community and facility mentoring on service delivery and proper documentation.
• Mentor volunteer staff and CBO staff on data quality.
• Provide technical support and linkages between the communities, facilities, and government for further support.
• Conduct monthly data validation and verification and transmit it to DHIS and other tools.

Key Responsibilities
• Collection of clinical specimens for Widal test, HIV-1/2 Screening, Hepatitis B test, blood sugar test, and Malaria parasite test.
• Culture media preparation and anti-susceptibility testing on the clinical isolates.
• Urine macroscopy and microscopy- determine the presence of protein, pH, nitrites, and bilirubin, detect pus cells, and casts.
• Registration of patients' tests and relaying of results after clinical diagnosis.
• Stool analysis to detect ova of hookworms and Ascaris worms using a microscope under supervision.
• Gram staining to identify Gram-positive and negative bacteria, respectively.
• Utilizing microscopes, cell counters, and other high-precision lab equipment.
