Luke Maciarello

I am a freshman in college and have had 3 jobs so far in my lifetime. In the summer I am A young Surf Rescue Technician with 3 years of experience on the Ocean City Beach Patrol. I perform first aid, perform water rescues, educate the public, and keep the beach safe. I learned many skills over the years including communication skills, working with others, communicating with beach patrons, and handling intense situations. I also worked at Back Street Grille bussing and hosting many nights. For this job, I cleaned tables, sat people at tables, set up tables for big parties, and food ran. This job taught me how to bring a good attitude every day and each shift will be great. It also taught me how to do my job while dealing with the stress and chaos of a restaurant. I learned how to work with others and make friends while being busy and doing my job. As a surf instructor, I teach people from all over the world how to surf especially young kids. I inform them about the water conditions and keep them safe while bringing people together in the surfing community. I learned how to work with all types of people and have fun while teaching.
