• Medicare and Medicaid- provide health insurance of elders and low income families and citizens.,
• Food Stamp Act of 1964- help low income families and citizens afford nutritious food for healthy diets.
• Economic Opportunity Act of 1964- helped create more jobs through education and training available to young adults.
• VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America)- domestic version of the Peace Corps.
• Elementary Education Act of 1965- funded schools in low income areas to help disadvantaged children.
• Civil Rights Act of 1964- prohibited discrimination on race, color, gender, religion, origin, and ended segregation in most public places.
• The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution- the ability to use U.S. military forces in Vietnam.
