Admitted newborn infants to well baby nursery from labor and delivery, administered initial and subsequent APGAR scores, performed initial weight and length of infant, monitored infant temperature and vital signs, obtained initial PKU, obtained initial footprints of infant, performed initial infant bath. Also provided education during admission to father of infant and answered any questions he may have had to any part of process and first moments of life in general. Once mother of infant was settled in room on unit infant was taken to for feeding, provided education concerning breast and bottle feeding, importance of monitoring infant diapers for nursery staff to record. Infant was maintained for most part in nursery where vital signs were monitored and supplemental feedings provided, infant isolette was kept clean and tidy and stocked with supplies.
