My research was conducted on a lake located on the campus of Benedictine University. I analyzed the effects sediment dwelling microbes had on the low oxygen levels and ultimately contributing to eutrophication. The lab also looked into ways to help reduce the eutrophication levels by increasing dissolved oxygen through the use of aerators.
