Oriented new staff members to facilities protocol regarding operating room procedures, infection control, safety standards and overall facility policies.

Precepted 3 classes of surgical technology students comprised of 12 active duty and national guard personnel.

• Assists with surgical procedures by arranging supplies and instrumentation to meet needs of individual surgeons and enhance team efficiency for approximately 20-25 patients daily
• Monitoring patients under Local anesthetic, Nitrous oxide, and Intravenous sedation
• Decontaminating and sterilizing instruments for surgical use
• Handling biological specimens and preparing them to be sent to diagnostic laboratories
• Skillfully performed surgical post-operative procedures for third molar extraction to prevent infection and provide patient education
• Obtaining vitals and health history
• Obtaining panoramic X-Rays and CBCT scans
• Conducting consultations for tooth extractions, exposures, and implants and pathological procedures
• Responsible for electronically and manually scribing patient history, orders and prescriptions into WinOMS system.

• Medical assistant and scribe to physician for approximately 30-35 patients daily.
