To obtain a full time, Registered Nurse position, on the Methodist Women’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Obstetrics Nurse with experience in monitoring women and infants. Conducts post-childbirth coaching for new mothers on breastfeeding, infant care, sleep techniques and safe handling of infants. Monitored and cared for women during labor performing dilation checks, monitoring mother and infant heart rates and recognizing emergency situations.

Providing empathy for the patient and their family during this time. Communicating effectively and providing teaching that the patient will be able to utilize.
• Veterans Affairs, Collaborated MedSURG Unit, Advocated Operating Room Rotation. Assisted Veterans during their surgery process as well as providing care on their road to recovery. Watched the administration of Dialysis. Taught the importance of performing Activities of Daily Living and performing self-care needs. Stressed that it is important to ask for help when it is needed. Learned the importance of working as a team instead of as an individual.
• Methodist Women’s Hospital, Labor and Delivery Unit, Helped mothers and their birthing partners feel included and empowered while working through their birth plans and their individualized birthing process. Focused on the individual cares of the mother as well as the infant/infants needs. Educated the mother about her needs as well as the infants needs after delivery. Assisted and empowered mothers while breast feeding, performing cares, as well as with the approach to their recovery process.
• Douglas County Mental Health, Provided care on several of the units such as: Long Term, Acute Care, and Outpatient Clinic., Visualized the importance of mental health needs not only in the community, as well as in healthcare facilities. Worked with patients on medication management and home life routines. Educated the importance of speaking with others and prioritizing their mental health needs. Administration of Outpatient medications and care plans for those outside of the facility. Holding workshops and teaching material to further the teaching once they leave the facility.
• Jennie Edmundson, Planned care for those who were admitted to the Intensive Care Unit., Provided focused assessments for those on the units. Prioritized infection control and pain management for patients who are ventilated. Assisted and learned the roles while in a code on the unit. Watched several intubations and assisted with extubating patients. Focused on independence with certain tasks while on the floor. Understood the importance of giving a thorough report to the next shift nurse.
• Methodist Fremont, Intensive Care Unit, Focused on empowering and influencing patients to perform tasks while on the unit. Administered focused assessments as well as medication management. Understood the importance of fast identification and intervention. Participated in rapid response calls. Utilized working in a team and asking for help when its needed.
