- Organized a postcard campaign where the campaign sent 14,500 postcards to democrats, independents, and middle right republicans.
- Won 7 of the 12 precincts and lost by only 421 votes (less than 3%– with an opponent's spending over $550,000 in negative advertising.

- Led an initiative to evaluate the ethics of the U.S. State Department's usage of sex and labor trafficked victims' in the TIP Report's photography and consequently, developed a new ethical internal policy and therefore, a new international standard for the portrayal of human trafficking victims in published documents.
